I can name that tune in . . .
- Religious books are all provably in error. Any error invalidates the entire book.
- If there was a god, it could communicate better than that, or not at all.
- If there is a god and it cannot communicate with humans and leaves no observable evidence, then there is no reason to assume its existence a priori.
- According to modern science, no deities are necessary for the initiation of a universe; abiogenesis has numerous ways of happening although we do not specifically know which was the culprit; morality is necessary for survival in any higher species and needs no mystical explanation; and humans are pattern-seekers and blame-seekers, able to imagine all sorts of non-existent things.
Therefore, no gods exist.
The evidence shows that religions do more harm than good, since belief requires wrongful understanding of how things work and leads to serious mistakes such as religious wars, racial and ethnic hate, distrust of other groups, whether religious or secular, who do not share in whatever irrational beliefs deemed necessary.
If you comprehend the above statements, you don’t even have to sign up. You don’t have to practice any particular rituals. Just be yourself . . . for the first time.
